Spencer is here!
And we have Pictures!
Monday evening (11/2) we checked Heather into the hospital for a scheduled induction. Everything is going perfectly, and Spencer is perfect.
Molly and I spent the night at home, we all decided that there will be enough excitement in the next few days/weeks/decades that we could start out rested.
This morning.
At 6:15 Heather called, and nothing much was happening yet.
They gave her another dose of the prostaglandins.
7:10 am
Heather is contracting every two minutes. The nurse says that
probably by the time she leaves to vote at 4:00pm we will be all done.
(the nurse is leaving to vote, not us!>
Shelly is the nurse now, and she is very nice. Heather feels the contractions, but they don't hurt yet.
10:45 am
They've started Heather on "pit" at about 10:00, and contractions are happening every 3-5 minutes. She is dialated at about 3 cm, but her cervix is thick. This means the baby can come between an hour and 12 hours from now. Here are our guesses:
Molly's teacher Kirsten from last year, has arrived to help coach Molly.
Spencer arrived at 5:41 and 57 seconds. That is "last body contact" time
(ie. toes were free).
He weighed 9 lbs 11.6 oz, and was 21 1/2 inches long.
Everyone is doing great (there were some scares, but in hindsight, just
enough to make memories, but it was scary at the time).
