A brief rant about Metalwork

I do this because I like to design and build things, but life is too short to bother making anything I don't like. It's true that square boxes are easier to make, but rounded, curving objects look and feel better than squared ones. Because metal doesn't yield, anything made to be held closely must curve with the Body. Aluminum is light and great for airplanes, and manufacturers love it because it's easy, but it feels rough and cheap.

The hand prefers stainless steel, and I listen to the hand.

I've always been drawn to fine watches, pocketknives, and cigarette lighters as jewel and tool. I also appreciate that their use again and again over time confers a sense of comfort and shelter just as a jaccket or hat does. I've designed and built these things to look and feel good, to be at hand whenever needed to improve life in general.
